Characters of Kaosfall: The Odyssey

Command Your Legion

The Age of the Gods is ending. For centuries, Zeus and his kin ruled from Olympus, their will carried on lightning, prophecy, and eternal fire. But their age has spiraled into cruelty, and mortals no longer bow. In secret caves and ruined temples, mortals have tapped into Kaos; the raw, untamed, formless force that existed before the gods themselves.

This ancient power now burns in your mortal veins, granting you the strength to rival demigods and the audacity to challenge Olympus. Choose your allegiance carefully. In Kaosfall, you command a legion of legendary heroes, tricksters, and treacherous gods.

The Olympian Gods: Des Immortales

As you rebel, you will channel a sliver of divinity to survive the wars ahead, manipulating each diety with every falling domino, until you climb the steps of Mount Olympus itself. Meet Des Immortales below.

Zeus (∞)

The Father of Gods watches the bloodshed from the storm-shadows of Mount Olympus, waiting for a worthy challenger . Just as he once overthrew his own father, Cronus, to rule the cosmos, this mortal rebellion is a poetic repetition of history. In the game, his power is absolute. He waits at the end of the Odyssey, where the final victor must face his thunder

Hades (∞):

Second only to Zeus, the Lord of the Dead makes pacts in shadow . His realm, the Underworld, is guarded by the hound Cerberus and is the only kingdom strong enough to resist the Kaosfall; it demands four tremors before its grim gates finally shatter . Played face-down, revealing him guarantees an instant victory for the location.

Poseidon (∞)

Stirring the seas of rebellion . As the tempestuous god of the sea and earthquakes, his famously violent temper washes away enemy strategies. When played, he forces all cards at a location to be revealed and displaced.

Athena (∞):

The goddess of strategic warfare whispers wisdom to her mortal followers . Said to have sprung fully formed from Zeus’s forehead, her tactical insight in the game allows you to lock a location and reveal all cards from any one location in the same domino.

Apollo (∞)

The god of prophecy, archery, and the sun, who notably guided the arrow that killed the warrior Achilles. Lending his light to the worthy, Apollo can instantly secure and lock an empty location before the battle even begins.

Aphrodite (0):

The goddess of love and beauty, whose allure was so powerful it sparked the Trojan War. In battle, she doubles the value of all your mortal cards placed in her location.

The Mortal Heroes

Rebel leaders command armies and legendary figures, battling not just for survival, but for dominion to usher in a new age.

Hercules (12)

The strongest mortal demigod, bringing unmatched brute force to any battle location . Having achieved godhood only after completing his impossible Twelve Labors, he represents the ultimate mortal struggle against divine punishment.

Achilles (8)

The unmatched warrior of legend, invulnerable everywhere except his heel after being dipped in the River Styx, making him a formidable force against any army

Odysseus (10)

The namesake of the “Odyssey,” famous for his intellect over brute strength. He is a cunning tactician perfectly mirroring the game’s focus on strategy over simple combat

Perseus (7)

A legendary hero ready to strike down the gods’ monsters, famous for using a mirrored shield to safely decapitate the Gorgon Medusa

The Spartan Army (3, 6, 9)

Relentless soldiers who march to war in the ruined cities.

Curses, Tricks & The Oracle

Brute force alone will not conquer Olympus. You must master the art of deception and the treachery of Kaos.

The Trojan Horse (1)

The hollow wooden horse was the ultimate trick that finally broke the ten-year siege of Troy. In the game, it is a cunning decoy played face-down. If an enemy triggers it, you steal a card from their hand and banish it

Medusa (1)

A Gorgon with venomous snakes for hair, turning onlookers to stone. Here, she is a deadly trap . If an opponent reveals her, they are forced to displace one of their own face-down cards to Medusa’s Garden—a cursed pit beneath Mount Olympus . If your cards fall into this pit, they are out of play, and none can save you for the round.

The Oracle

In ancient Greece, the Oracle of Delphi was the most important shrine in all of Greece, where mortals sought prophecies. In the game, playing a card in the Delphi domino summons the Oracle, granting you a one-time prophetic power to guess the value of an enemy’s face-down card . If you guess correctly, it is permanently discarded

The Agent of Kaos

Born from the primordial void before the gods existed, these formless entities hide under the storm-shadows of Mount Olympus, waiting for mortals who have exhausted their forces . If you end the round with the fewest cards in your hand, these ancient whispers will come to your aid, granting you the Agent of Kaos card . On your next turn, you can play this card to peer into the future and privately view the top card of Kaosfall Deck One, knowing exactly which kingdom is doomed to fall next . (If multiple mortals tie for the fewest cards, the Agent favors the underdog and goes to the player with the fewest Victory Points) .

The Agent of Hades

When the Lord of the Dead is absent from your ranks, his dark emissaries still wander the battlefield to collect the fallen . These ferrymen of the Underworld strike bargains with desperate mortals. At the end of a round, if you do not have your Hades card, you may be granted the Agent of Hades . Playing this shadowy figure on your next turn allows you to defy death itself and recall any one defeated mortal card from the discard pile back into your hand for another strike . (If multiple players lack Hades, the Agent is given to the player with the fewest Victory Points)

The Final Ascent

The dominos of Greece are destined to fall . Troy, Sparta, Delphi, and Athens will collapse into dust, and even the grim gates of the Underworld may eventually shatter . As the world burns with the untamed power of Kaos, the gods will demand their sacrifice. As you climb the cold geometry of Euclid’s Path to victory, your divine allies will slip away and abandon you to the fates.

In the end, when the ruins of the world fall away, only the marble pillars of Mount Olympus will remain standing . When the last domino crumbles, the doors will open for one final confrontation . Only one mortal leader will remain standing atop the ashes, climbing into the storm-shadows above the crags… where Zeus awaits .

From Kaos they rose. Through Kaos they fall.

The thunder is already rumbling . Will you command the rebellion, master an ever-changing mythic battlefield, and shape the destiny of the New World ? Join the your friends in rebellion against the gods .
